From a friend who's away in Kent at the moment:

"Got stopped last night while on the seafront at Folkstone, Kent last night.
Asked what I was doing walking around alone with a camera!!

They asked for ID, which I had, then proceded to look through all the pictures I'd taken that day and the day before.
They were curious as to why I had fire stations and police cars on there, so I told them about this site and the fact that I have little or no interest as such, except people seem to like them and add them as favorites!
They obviously checked me out OK, but then asked why I had a picture of a 'scanner', I took out my (flat-typical!) Icom E-92 and explained it all to the officer. I said its like their 'digital' system in some ways, that joe public can't hear us any more and he asked if I could pick up the fire service. I stated that I couldn't any more, not that I'd want to, as they had gone over to tetra too, along with the ambulance services. He said quite abruptly that the Kent F&R service haddn't yet and seemed rather interested in radio in general, along with my takings of the day.

Anyway, while we were chatting, the kids they had also stopped had gone in the back of the police car and nicked the alcohol they had confiscated back while they were doing the pnc check!!
At that point I wished them a good evening and said I'd leave them to it!

I do feel that I am now a 'marked man' somewhat, my gut feeling tells me to keep away from now on. They were polite (sort of) and didn't seem too bothered by my presence.

Whatever next??"

Why do I get the feeling this is in part payback for the photography of the G20 Policing, in which Kent were probably involved?

Perhaps the Met should send some of their new handouts down to their close mates in Kent,!
