SOCPA is the legislation that defines 'designated areas' where ordinary rights of association and protest are illegal without prior consent of the Secretary of State. Although not directly restrictive of photography, designated areas appear to be especially hazardous for photographers seeking to record events with the police failing to differentiate between protesters and reporters.
